STRANDLOPER TRAIL * NEW

4 DAYS AND 3 NIGHTS

Day one
Arrive at Belgrados Guest house, situated in the small town of Klein Brak river.
Check in from 14h00 with a light lunch served on arrival.

The afternoon will be spent relaxing, taking a swim in the sea or taking part in a
pre-booked excursion. Welcome drinks and dinner will be served on the wooden deck looking out at the Outiniqua Mountains. Briefing of the following two days hiking during and after dinner.

Day Two
Departure would be advised the night before as it is dependant on the tides. We travel 12 kilometres (7.45 miles) to the start on the trail at Glentana beach. With the whole bay ahead of us we start hiking south passing, Outiniqua strand, Mitchim and Great Brak. Today’s walk duration is approximately 5-6 hours but this being dependant on sightings of the Black Oyster catcher, Dolphins and seasonal whales.

We hike with our lunch packs and find a shady area to relax and enjoy our meal. After lunch we traverse the Great Brak River before we head towards Tergniet where the waves disappear into low lying rock formations which we will be able to observe the natural rock pools. As we approach the Little Brak beach where we head up the stairs and end up back at the guest house.

Once back at the Guest house we will freshen up and enjoy a hearty meal prepared on a wood burning fire. While we ponder on the day past your guide will advise the following days departure time and what to expect.

Day Three
Depart the guest house for a short ride to Hartenbos for the start of today’s walk. Once we hit the beach we hike in a north easterly direction leaving the built up area and crossing the Hartenbos River. Once over the river we have a natural wilderness area with numerous birds to be spotted including the black oyster catcher. We have low rocks emerging from the sea with the tide going out which makes this area very good to spot Dolphins and seasonal Whales.

Today’s walk is about 3- 4 hours long and once we cross the little brak river lunch with refreshments will be waiting for us. We also have time for a swim in the sea or the lagoon before we head back to the guest house. We offer optional massage treatments on return.

Wild oysters and champagne will be served for you to enjoy as the sun sets and a
farewell dinner will be served before you adjourn to your rooms for a well deserved good nights sleep.

Day Four
Breakfast will be served at leisure with time for hikers to say farewell and leave with lasting memories of the Strandloper trail
